Mr. Sung here left him and rode on, and before very long reached hisown home; here he awaked as if from a dream, and found that he hadbeen dead three days,40 when his mother, hearing a groan in thecoffin, ran to it and helped him out. It was some time before he couldspeak, and then he at once inquired about Chang-shan, where, as itturned out, a graduate named Chang had died that very day.Nine years afterwards, Mr. Sungs mother, in accordance with fate, passed from this life; and when the funeral obsequies were over, herson, having first purified himself, entered into his chamber and diedalso. Now his wifes family lived within the city, near the westerngate; and all of a sudden they beheld Mr. Sung, accompanied bynumerous chariots and horses with carved trappings and red-tasselledbits, enter into the hall, make an obeisance, and depart. They werevery much disconcerted at this, not knowing that he had become aspirit, and rushed out into the village to make inquiries, when theyheard he was already dead. Mr. Sung had an account of his adventurewritten by himself; but unfortunately after the insurrection it wasnot to be found. This is only an outline of the story.FOOTNOTES:36 The tutelar deity of every Chinese city.37 That is, he had taken the first or bachelors degree. Very disappointed. 2 steak sandwiches ,would have to be the worst yet. No lettuce or tomato.its pretty sad that now days you have to ask for what was once was a standard part of the order. The milk shake was not good either.Very very over priced for the quality of food.Wont be going back

Beautiful views, excellent local coffee, nice large portion sizes and a kiddie play area... a perfect place for lunch!! We'll certainly be back.

Wonderful place to eat overlooking the gardens. Good choice from menu. Inside and outdoor seating

Tasty breakfast, coffee was pretty good. Gardens are great, worth the entry if you're interested in gardens, design, beauty. Cafe open Sundays! Hard to find somewhere for breakfast on a Sunday in Cowra - this hit the spot.
